Time for action

ONCE AGAIN I CALL UPON MY FELLOW CITZENS TO REVOLT AND OUST ALL SITTING POLICTICANS.....ELECT PEOPLE WHO WILL REPRESENT THE PEOPLE....BETTER YET....GET RID OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND LET THE PEOPLE TAKE THEIR PLACE....WE NEED TO KEEP THE SENATE, PRESIDENT, COURTS, ETC. BUT THE PEOPLE ARE FULLY CAPABLE OF REPRESENTING THEMSELVES....

How many zeros in a billion?

This is too true to be funny.

The next time you hear a politician use the
word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about
whether you want the 'politicians' spending
YOUR tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend,
but one advertising agency did a good job of
putting that figure into some perspective in
one of it's releases.

A.

A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

B..

A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

C..

A billion hours ago our ancestors were
living in the Stone Age..

D..

A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

E.
A billion dollars ago was only
8 hours and 20 minutes,
at the rate our government
is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain...
let's take a look at New Orleans ..
It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division.

Louisiana Senator,
Mary Landrieu (D)
is presently asking
Congress for
250
BILLION DOLLARS
to rebuild New Orleans . Interesting number...
what does it mean?

A.

Well... if you are one of the 484,674 residents of New Orleans
(every man, woman, and child)
you each get
$516,528.

B..

Or.... if you have one of the 188,251 homes in
New Orleans , your home gets
$1,329,787.

C..

Or... if you are a family of four...
your family gets
$2,066,012.

Washington , D.
C

HELLO!
Are all your calculators broken??

Time for action

The Federal Government is now no longer an extension of the People! When the President, and/or his Office, start attacking news agencies, nothing is safe any more. While I don't watch FOX News, or any of the other "news" agencies, it still seems inappropriate to me that any politician would be able to attack any of them, given the Bill of Rights and the U.S. Constitution.
But for the past, at least 20 years, it seems like we edge closer to a form of government that has nothing to do with what we started with. I am not advocating we return to the 18th Century, but we should retain the rights that were originally granted us by the Founding Fathers. Every day, politicians push legislation promoted by special interests to further restrict us and make us less self reliant. And most of us stand by and wach, assuming someone else will do the right thing and correct our course of action.
It is time for all of us to get off our ass and take back our country from the "powers" that be.

OK, just finished watching Notre Dame v Michigan. What happened to the last 2 seconds! Not that it should have mattered, but it seems like there are more mistakes than ever in all areas of this country. Time keepers, referees, and, of course, Politicians are constantly screwing with systems that worked just fine in the past. Everyone has to do something to bring about "change". It has been said if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Well, let's get back to the original U. S. Constitution. The Federal and State Governements have limited and defined roles and responsiblities. let's get them out of private industry and education. That alone would be a major accomplishment for this generation. They can take back America!

OK, drove up to Red Bluff, CA this weekend. Turns out there are a lot of stupid or just plain selfish people on the road. Most people don't have the common courtesy to pull over to the slower lane, rather than block cars that are going faster than they are. Many still don't know to use their turn signals for lane changes. And those from other states don't have a clue on how to drive in this state.
On another subject, why hasn't anyone raised the unconstitutionality of the Federal Government being involved in banking, finance, health care and auto industries? Last time I looked, the Constitution only allowed the Federal Government to run the Treasury, stand up a Military, and deal in Interstate and International affairs. And they definitely do not belong in the education field!
It is time for all of them to be voted out and go back to the system we had prior to WW II.
The idea that anyone can get elected once and then get retirement benefits for the rest of their life is ridiculous. Can you imagine if they even mentioned doing that for the Military, who actually risk their lives for the country. Congress would be the first to shout it down.
I say we vote them all out. Then we allow a district/state to elect someone as long as they are happy with them (no term limits), but there is no retirement except for Social Security benefits based on their contributions from their wages. Additionally, we reduce the pay to a maximum of $100,000 with a COLA equal to the Military COLA. Members of Congress would meet weekly on the internet and 3 times a year in Washington, D. C.. They would only get reimbursed for the 3 meetings at regular per diem on the government rate, not their current exclusive rate. All elections would be braodcast on radio and television at no cost to the candidates, but all candidates must get the same exact time, no exclusive interviews for anyone including incumbents. More to follow at a later date.

The system is messed up. Not just a little, either. Point of my case, drivers on the highways. They are either using their cell phone (illegal in CA), texting (also illegal), applying make up (should be illegal), speeding (for whatever reason), weaving in and out of traffic, littering (includes smokers flicking their cigarettes out window), and reading papers or books. In any event, I personally tired of risking my, and my family's, life among a bunch of "C" grade drivers. By that I mean it only takes a 70 score on the written test. Additionally, you don't have to prove you can drive in person. There should be a mandatory driving test for everyone at least every five or ten years. You have to renew your passport picture every ten years, and no one ever got killed or maimed by a passport picture.
People can take the written test every 6 months until they either pass with a 70 or quit trying. The written passing score should be raised to at least 80 and no repeat testing for a minimum of one each year.
Public transportation should be improved and this could be accomplished by raising the gas tax to $4 per gallon. This would ease traffic and initially provide funding fir the public transportation system. Why can the system in Washington, DC work so well, as well as other major cities, and not work in CA? Because everyone out here thinks they are cowboys and the car is their horse! By raising the gas tax to bring the cost of gas close to the of Europe, it would be a while before most drivers realized that the bus or something else was a better option. At that point, public transportation would become self sufficient due to the increased ridership.
Driving is not a Right, and is not alluded to in any of the Bill of Rights, and yet it kills and maims more people than guns. Let's get our heads on straight, America!

In the beginning, there was one. As time passed, others were added. This is how it has always been, and this is how it will continue. I write this because I can and for no other reason. I am tired of listening to the drivel that permeates the media, paid and unpaid. What I say will be my thoughts only, based on things I have learned, experienced, and found to be true, at least for me. If you agree with me, fine. If you don't agree, that is your prerogative. But agree or disagree with fact and leave the name calling to the politicians and their followers. In any case, this is my space to share with others as I have done on a much more limited scale in my contacts with people around the world. Don't expect a daily issuance. Welcome to my world.
